Smiles Your Way Every Day!: Jan 3 (Nov 23, 2011)

WHY??

Why on Earth are we doing this? (I’m not just articulating this for you, but for me so I can remember when we’re deep into August and I’m asking myself that very question). In December 2011 we entertained the idea of giving a 2012 Christmas present to our families of a picture a day…after all 2012 will be a year of great excitement: a new baby, a couple new places to live, a new job, etc. So I spent a week or two practicing, but quickly realized I wasn’t very good at it and the idea withered and died extremely quickly.

So how did it revive again? After the Christmas and New Year Holiday Hannah habitually wakes up to say, "gam-pa, gam-pa!" or she'll pick up the phone and say "gam-ma, gam-ma." While I'm preparing her lunch she wanders over to the piano, points to the picture of the family, and starts naming everyone. When pictures of the family cycle through on the computer's screen saver, we know she's not paying very much attention to scripture study. So with her nudging it became inevitable, because after all 2012 will be an exciting year and we want to share it with you no matter where we may end up.
