January 23-29, 2012

January 29, 2012
After breakfast we turned around to find that Hannah had prepared all her bears for breakfast too.  When I told her I was taking a picture of her bears she insisted I get an individual shot of all of them. Look how clean they are now!

Hannah loves to tip toe! This week she has discovered how fun it is to close a door then pound on it and say "knock, knock" until we open it.  She also likes to wiggle her fingers under the door at us.

Hannah discovered a black spot on her bear and decided that when the washcloth didn't take care of it, the washing machine was the only option. She willingly washed ALL of her bears.  We were very excited!

We sang "I Love to See the Temple" for scripture study and she wanted her bear to see the temple too.

This is what I found in her bedroom. The next day Hannah asked me over and over again to help her sit on the toilet. She'd tug on her shirt and pants, grab my finger, and say "go, go."  She never went potty in the potty, but had fun singing on it.

We sold the piano today :( but before it was taken away Hannah helped her bear play from the Primary Children's Songbook.

A couple days before this picture Hannah saw Tyson fixing something so after that she and the screwdriver were inseperable... she even slept with it! We turned around to realize she found some screws that needed tightening.

Happy First Birthday!

Jan 1-4/The best of 2011

Since it took a little umph to get this thing started the first four days are some favorite pictures of 2011...

A picture a day...but WHY?

Why on Earth are we doing this? (I'm not just articulating this for you, but for me so I can remember when we're deep into August and I'm asking myself that very question). In December 2011 we entertained the idea of giving a 2012 Christmas present to our families of a picture a day...after all 2012 will be a year of great excitement: a new baby, a couple new places to live, a new job, etc. So I spent a week or two practicing, but realized I wasn't very good at it and the idea withered and died extremely quickly.

So how did it revive again? After the Christmas and New Year Holiday Hannah habitually wakes up to say, "gam-pa, gam-pa!" or she'll pick up the phone and say "gam-ma, gam-ma." While I'm preparing her lunch she wanders over to the piano, points to the picture of the family, and starts naming everyone. When pictures of the family cycle through on the computer's screen saver, we know she's not paying very much attention to scripture study. So with her nudging it became inevitable, because after all 2012 will be an exciting year and we want to share it with you no matter where we may end up.
